Remember little Anthony Martignetti from the Prince Spaghetti commercials? If your around my age (42) then you probably do (Click HERE for a link to the original commercial if you would like to refresh your memory. It sure takes me back!). See how he would always run home from play all excited when his mum called every Wednesday evening, probably for his favourite supper of a big plate of spaghetti, maybe with some meatballs seasoned just right! *my stomach growling right now*
Ever wonder what happened to Anthony when he grew up? Sure you do. Just like we wondered about Mikey from the Life Cereal commercials. Well, I think I found him. Seems that he has moved out of the US, changed his name, and became an artist (of sorts). Problem is, after all those years of big pasta meals, he put on a few pounds. Diets didn't prove to give him the result he was looking for, so he went the cosmetic surgery route. Being pleased with the results, he decided to invite some friends over for dinner to celebrate his success. To make it really memorable, he chose his childhood treat of spaghetti and meatballs.
It went something like THIS...
Wasn't that special! It did not say if he told his friends about his 'secret recipe' before or after the meal. Even I found it disturbing to think that they may have known about it and chose to eat, anyway! Recall the quote from the article where he said "You are not a cannibal if you eat art?" What if Art was the name of the guy who "couldn't make it" for dinner?
If you're really brave, feel free to check out some links to more of Mr. Evaristti's work on his Home Page, and one of his Exhibits but I have to warn you, they are not for the easily shocked or offended.
Keep this story in mind if you ever are invited for dinner by someone who seems to be looking noticably slimmer, maybe in a short amount of time...Especially if it includes some kind of fried food...wondering why, if it IS chicken...
...How come it doesn't TASTE LIKE CHICKEN!?!?!?
